Frontiers Wild Days & Camps

In an age of video games, urbanisation & rising obesity, Frontiers brings back the spirit of adventure. We teach children to take risks in a safe environment, taking them out into the woods to get mucky, to learn, and to have lots of fun.

We run exciting, educational events for children in our beautiful beech woods - for less than the cost of child care! All profits from our Wild Days go towards running New Horizons, our alternative curriculum for disadvantaged teenagers.

• Half day, full day & overnight camps, tailor-made for specific age groups, running all year round
• Educational & creative activities, such as: survival skills, tree & plant identification, wild crafts, magical quests, fantastic games, exploring nature, watching wildlife, silent stalking, making fire, extraordinary night games, campfire songs and much more...

3. Send the completed forms with cheque payable to Frontiers, at our address below

4. Check the location below and view directions if necessary

Please note: For administrative reasons, we will not send you a booking confirmation. If a booking is cancelled more than 2 working days before an event, you will receive a cash refund. If you cancel within 2 working days of the event, you will receive a credit for a future event instead of a refund.

Quest for 13 Magic Crystals
Location: King Charles Head pub
Time: 10:30am - 4pm
Ages: 7 - 11

Serious adventurers are needed for this quest! Trek through the forest to retrieve the 13 magic crystals and use your woodland skills to complete the challenges. Only when all 13 are safely returned to the elves may you leave the forest!

We're running these shorter sessions for our younger adventurers - either morning or afternoon. We'll start by walking out into the forest and building a nature trail. Then we'll light a fire, and clamber through the trees, seeing the forest like a forest creature. We'll play lots of games and hide in the woods. You can wear black and green so you can't be seen...

Thursday 30th October
Family Halloween Walk - children and adults welcome!
Location: Path Hill Farm
Time: 4pm - 6pm
Age: Children aged 8 and above can come WITHOUT parents. Or children of ANY age can come WITH their parents. All parents are very welcome!
Cost: £13 per child, adults FREE!

An activity for children AND parents, or children only. Come for a mystical Halloween journey in the woods. Friendly forest spirits will guide you on a magical quest to find treats, treasure and offerings for the supernatural beings on this very special night... Come dressed in your Halloween best!

Friday 31st October
Forraging in the Forest - children and adults welcome!

An activity for children AND parents. Come for a stroll in beautiful Chilterns woodlands to learn and discover what delicious and delightful treasurers can be found. We will bring back our tastier finds to a camp in the woods, light a fire, prepare, cook and sample the fruits of our forragings. All wild food will be expertly identified.

Quest for the Hallowed Veils

Witches and Wizards celebrating the traditional New Year festival of Samhain here in the wizarding University at Hardwitch Estate have caused chaos. Spells
have backfired, duels got out of hand and the veils of time have been ripped ….. Now wild spirits and restless ghosts stalk the woods, lost between the worlds. Can you help find a witch who knows the secret of the old ways and help make spells to protect us from these ancient ghosts?

Midwinter Sun, Fire & Magic

Has anyone seen the Sun Witch? Last spotted holidaying in Majorca, she can be identified by her stripey socks and see through boots! We urgently need her to perform essential spells to ensure a hot summer and good harvest next year. Come to the woods and help find her, make solstice fire magic, drink hot chocolate and celebrate the sun rising……

Journey into the Forbidden Forest

Many things lie in the forbidden forest, some obvious, some hidden. Can you combat the cunning elves, mischievous goblins and wily eyes of the dark guardian? Make sure you pack bravery, stealth and courage for this day.

Come and discover the magic of the woods by creating sculptures and pictures amongst the trees, using only natural materials. We'll create a wintery wreath, made out of woodland materials, to celebrate the coming of the new year.
