Frontiers Newsletter - September 2008
If this newsletter fails to look lovely, click here for an online version.
It's been a great start to the new academic year on our New Horizons alternative curriculum - students have been putting up shelters in the woods, building an outdoor kitchen and learning to use bowdrills.
Remember, we're now a charity so any donations will receive gift aid. And our profits still go towards running New Horizons.
Autumn / Winter Wild Days
We've got some mysterious and magical new Wild Days for the half-term and christmas holidays, including 'Quest for 13 Magic Crystals' & 'Midwinter Sun, Fire & Magic'. They're all fun, educational events for children, in our beautiful beech woods. Book a place here as they do tend to fill up quickly.
Now Recruiting - New Jobs and Volunteers
We're recruiting for two new posts: Senior Trainer in Outdoor Education &
Catering Instructor / Activity Leader. We offer career opportunities with flexibility, a beautiful work environment and the chance to make a difference to Oxon and Berkshire's most disaffected young people. Closing date 11th October 2008. We're also looking for volunteers. See more details here.
Seeking a New Base
We're expanding again! We're looking for somewhere to run our activities from - a site west of Oxford, with at least 2 acres of open space, access to at least 10 acres of useable woodland, parking with access to the road, electricity and water. We don't need any buildings. If you know of anywhere suitable, please get in touch!
